Easterseals Oregon Veterans Employment Services

Every day, hundreds of Oregon Veterans face the impossible choice between paying rent, buying food, or finding a safe place to sleep. At Easterseals Oregon, we believe no one who has served our country should ever face homelessness or unemployment alone.

Through our nationally recognized Homeless Veterans Reintegration Program (HVRP), funded by the U.S. Department of Labor, we provide personalized employment services that help Veterans secure meaningful work and successfully reintegrate into their communities.

Our team equips Veterans with the tools they need to thrive: job search coaching, interview preparation, computer training, and financial literacy education. And we don’t stop at helping Veterans find jobs — we walk beside them as they keep them, building long-term stability, independence, and hope for the future.

While federal funding makes this work possible, many unfunded urgent needs — from bus passes and work boots to emergency housing and mental health supports — are met through the compassion and generosity of private donors, corporations, and foundations who stand with us to honor those who served.

Veterans Employment Program Services include:

• Career exploration, skills assessment, and employability skills.
• Job readiness and support services, including:
  • Vocational counseling & guidance
  • Training opportunities
  • Employability workshops
  • Job search assistance
  • Support addressing barriers to successful employment
• Connect with staff for 90, 180, and 270-day job retention follow-up.

Referral Sources:

• All human service providers or organizations that work with Veterans and individuals or families facing homelessness.

• Walk-in inquiries are generally welcome; however, we kindly request that you contact us in advance. 

Participant Eligibility*:

• Homeless or at risk of homelessness
• Veteran of the United States Armed Forces
• Ready to work with us to make a change in their life!

Eligibility Requirements*:

• Veteran: A person who has served active duty in the United States Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Space Force, Coast Guard, or Reserve Component (National Guard and Reserve) and whose discharge or release is other than dishonorable. 
  • Homeless: This definition is based on the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act and its definition of a homeless individual.
• Employment-ready: We are looking to assist eligible individuals in gaining meaningful employment. People who are serious about working and ready to partner with us to remove barriers. 

Easterseals Oregon will help with:

• Individualized support based on specific employment needs
• Employment support services such as workforce development, clothing, food, and transportation
• Training and remedial education, job preparation services, trade certification, and licensing assistance
• Assistance in finding shelter, transitional, and permanent housing
• Referral for other services or treatments

Easterseals Oregon’s Veterans Employment Program (HVRP) is supported by the U.S. Department of Labor - VETS. A total of $1,412,434 or 95%, of the program is financed with federal funds, and $70,622, or 5% percent, is funded by other sources.
